As promised by Microsoft at this years E3, Assassin's Creed 2 is available for free download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
With Playstation bringing their 'A' game as of late its obvious that Microsoft is under the gun to go above and beyond to show appreciation to their Xbox 360 users, with hopes of retaining as many of their customers as humanly possible.
During E3 the first free game went live , Fable 3, and since the schedule has been established. The free games will be released on the 1st and 16th of every month until the end of the year and the games will only be free for limited time (Essentially its free until the next free game comes out). Assassin's Creed 2 is the third free game released following Lionhead's Fable 3 and some Old tower defense game that nobody cares about.
There is no officially announced complete schedule of which games will be free and when, however its been announced that Halo 3 will be one of the games. Strong move by Microsoft, I for one am excited about this tactic.
As a gamer and smart consumer I am hoping with every fiber of my being this continues next Gen.
